Maxi dresses, no excuses.

Dress: the Banana Republic Marimekko Collection | Belt: thrifted | Jacket: Urban Outfitters
Sunglasses: Forever 21 | Sandals: Aldo | Nailpolish: Wet n Wild "Everybody Loves Redmond"

More drapey cotton than you can shake a stick at!

I maintain that maxi dresses are the easiest, most comfortable clothing out there. You throw it over your head, add a belt if you feel like it, and walk out the door. That being said, fashion for the purpose of ease alone sort of makes me crazy (normcore, don't even get me STARTED on you).

I always think of Stacy & Clinton on What Not To Wear, abhorring the excuse of "comfort" when talking with their clients. They had it right. The same jersey-knit black maxi can either be perfect or disastrous, depending completely upon the wearer's interpretation.

If you wear it like it's an excuse, it will be. If you own it, it can be a showstopper.

That being said, this maxi didn't need much work at all. I love the print, tiny straps, and open back.
